Preventative Dentistry
The team at Windermere Dental Group is focused on using preventative care to help patients maintain healthy smiles and avoid future oral health concerns. By scheduling routine examinations and cleanings at our practice every six months, we can address issues at their earliest stages using minimally invasive treatments. If Dr. Susana Moncada finds that you are at high-risk for decay, we can provide sealants and fluoride treatments to give your teeth an added layer of protection, which is especially beneficial for young patients. We can also demonstrate proper brushing and flossing techniques to help you take better care of your smile at home.
Traditional Orthodontics
With traditional metal braces, Dr. Moncada can correct a range of alignment issues, including overbite, underbite, cross bite, crowded teeth, and teeth that are spaced too far apart. Braces work by applying consistent pressure to teeth in order to gradually move them into proper alignment over time. Straight teeth can not only dramatically improve the appearance of your smile, they can also provide several benefits to your oral health. Bringing teeth into proper alignment will allow you to care for them more effectively with brushing and flossing. In addition, helping you achieve a proper bite can reduce your risk of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder.
Periodontal Care
Even if you have straight teeth that are free of decay, neglecting your periodontal (gum) care can compromise the beauty and health of your smile. Gum disease, which develops when bacteria accumulates along oral tissues, can eventually lead to widespread tooth loss and a range of oral health concerns when it is left untreated. Fortunately, Dr. Moncada can address periodontal disease by performing a scaling and root planing procedure. During scaling and root planing, which is also known as a deep cleaning, we will carefully remove plaque from both above and below the gum line. Next, we will smooth rough spots on your dental roots before treating any pockets of bacteria with an antibiotic. In more advanced cases of gum disease, Dr. Moncada can use minimally invasive laser therapy to restore your periodontal health.
Root Canal Therapy
If oral bacteria has advanced to the inner chambers of your tooth, Dr. Moncada can use root canal therapy to alleviate discomfort and treat the infection at its source. During a root canal procedure, Dr. Moncada will remove infected tissue from inside your tooth, clean the area, and fill in the resulting space with a soft rubber-like compound. We will then reshape the tooth and cover it with a dental crown to restore your dental function and provide added protection from decay. Thanks to our in-office CEREC® (chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics) machine, we can even provide a same-day crown in many cases, allowing us to complete an entire treatment during a single visit to our office.
Dental Technology
At Windermere Dental, we proudly feature advanced technology to perform accurate diagnoses and provide our patients with the highest level of oral care. With digital x-rays, we can capture detailed pictures of your teeth and oral structures, allowing us to create a truly personalized treatment plan. Additionally, we can use our CEREC® machine to generate 3D images of teeth and then fabricate a custom crown or bridge directly in our office. At many other practices, dentists will use a blade when treating oral tissues. However, we utilize an advanced laser instead, which offers minimized discomfort and recovery times.
Pediatric Dentistry
Dr. Susana Moncada offers comprehensive pediatric dentistry treatments at her practice, and regularly treats children of many ages, whose needs change as they grow older. It is important to bring in your children from an early age to instill good dental habits, as well as prevent them from developing phobia or anxiety about visiting the dentist.

Many individuals between the ages of 17 to 25 will need their wisdom teeth removed. In addition to local anesthetic, Windermere Dental Group offers nitrous oxide sedation to manage patient’s anxiety during the procedure. Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral found in various foods and water. Fluoride treatments can help protect teeth from decay by strengthening the enamel through remineralization. Dr. Moncada treats patients of all ages and can begin protecting young patient’s smiles with fluoride treatments. Professional fluoride treatments reverse the early stages of decay by fighting plaque bacteria.
